Improve Your Skin Health

When it comes to healthy skin nothing beats following a nutritious diet and maintaining a rock-solid skin care routine. Yet a majority of people still think that skin health is a special luxury but it’s not it’s an important part of your overall health and proper skincare aids in decreasing signs of premature aging.

I’m going to show you 4 simple ways you can improve your skin health by creating a healthy skin care regimen.


#1 Determine Your Skin Concerns

What are the main issues you want to address? Do you struggle with dry/dehydrated skin or perhaps your skin is more on the oily side. Are you noticing the beginning signs of premature aging such as fine lines and wrinkles? Whatever your concerns are with your skin know exactly what it is that you are looking to address. Once you figure out your skin concerns you can move to tip 2.

#2 Decide on What Products You Need

Don’t overwhelm yourself if you are new to skincare and purchase all the things. Instead, focus on the basics and stick to products that you know for sure you need in order to improve the appearance of your skin. For example, if you have dark undereye circles focus on getting an eye cream that will help to correct and diminish the appearance of dark undereye circles and then build your skin care regimen around that. Make sure you include a cleanser, moisturizer/SPF product these should be STAPLES in your skincare regimen.

#3 Choose High-Performance Products

When you are seeking to create specific changes in our skin, using drugstore products are not going to get you where you want to go. Seeking products that contain a high list of active ingredients that will address your specific concerns is going to be your best bet. Some of my favorite high-performance brands are Aveda, Naturopathica, Dermalogica, Kiehls, Clarity RX, Neostrata, and SkinScript RX just to name a few.

#4 Build Your Regimen

Decide how basic or how advanced you want to go you can start with 3-4 products and build up as you go along. You can also purchase starter kits which typically contain a sample of the key products you need and then you can purchase the full-size products as you become familiar with what you’re using.
